Having the space in RAM is not difficult for an audio application, I have several iPad recording studio apps that all go up to 8 simultaneous tracks. But video is another beast altogether. You need a lot of RAM to allow undestructive editing of files so large.

Also, while you can plug an electric guitar or keyboard into iPad 1 or 2, there's no video source in the iPad 1, so it's a double killer: not enough RAM and no native video source -- also a slower processor.

Thanks for the comment. I don't know if subscriptions will be able to work long-term. The financials for them so far don't look good, and the record companies obviously don't want to let Apple implement a real subscription service. I, personally, don't need another monthly bill, and I suspect that I'm not alone.

Ah, well... I really need to finish "this" post... Maybe soon.

They really did an awful job communicating this. It makes me think they didn't want to be firmly "on the record" advertising no activation fees, probably so they can keep their options open to implement them later.

Who knows... Either way, terrible job.

Verizon has been so incompetent on this it is incredible. I have gone into a company store and spoken with reps on the phone and both have quoted an activation fee for the Ipad 2 data plan just like they do for the Xoom. All the public has to go in is a few quotes from "PR folks". Nothing in writing on thier website compared to AT&T which clearly states on thier site "no activation fees" I would like to use Verizon but they lost my business...
